Merry Christmas!

Natalie and Claire enjoyed their first Christmas together. Oma and Opa came into town from Minnesota to spend it with us. Natalie loved opening her presents (and Claire's, Oma's, Opa's, Mama's and Papa's). After a handful of presents though, her attention would wander on to something else -- either playing with a new toy or pulling out her books. Claire spent the time catching up on sleep!

Natalie got a lot of fun things from Oma, Opa, Mama, Papa and Santa including a Cozy Tike Car, slide, tea set, an easel, new doll, doll accessories, lots of books, soccer ball, and clothes. She loves all her new toys and I think they'll keep her exploring for at least a few months!

The Tike Car was a bit more complicated to put together than we thought it would be. Good thing Emile started on it early in the evening on Christmas Eve.

We got Claire her first doll for Christmas but it wasn't exactly what I had been looking for.

Turns out I found the exact style I wanted the day after Christmas - one like her sister's Molly doll. So now she has a new "first" doll. :)

Claire and Natalie got to spend a lot of time playing with Oma and Opa while they were here for the week, and of course, playing with Papa and Mama.

Natalie and I made cut out Christmas cookies together in preparation for the holiday.

We're amazed at all that Natalie can say now. She repeats most words that we say and her vocabulary has to include close to 50 or so words. Daily it seems to increase exponentially. My favorite words that she says now are apple sauce and "Papa and I" (repeating phrase from a book).
